Planning Our Annual Green Party

Every year I invited the neighborhood kids over for a "green party"!!! (okay, last year was my first year, but it is something that I PLAN on doing yearly) I am already searching for some cute ideas to surprise everyone with! The rule is that you have to bring something green to eat and share!

I will (of course!) make sure that the Leprechaun's visit and put some magic surprises in the kid's food!

For Starters...... I will pour green food coloring in the bottom of their milk glass, then when they stir it....it will turn their milk green! The Leprechaun's used to do that at my house when I was a kid...guess it is their favorite trick. :)

Last year I served Peanut Butter and Jelly for the kids on Green bread that I found at the grocery store bakery, but I am going to come up with something different this year.

Dessert is my FAVORITE part of the night!!!!

I Put 2 Tbs of Pistachio pudding in the bottom of a glass bowl for each kid. They will each have a glass with a half of a cup of cold milk that they pour into their bowl. (also GREAT to use baby food jars so that they can just shake them) When the milk mixes with the pudding....IT TURNS GREEN!!!!! They LOVE this!
(*One package of instant pistachio pudding makes just about 4 servings...just play around with measurements because the package comes with a little over 7 tablespoons of powder)

This is on my list of things to do!!!!!

Please oh Please check out http://www.marthastewart.com/article/spice-displays!!! I am DEFINITELY going to tackle this project this month! (I have to give myself plenty of time for these things, or else it is almost a guarantee that something will happen to take up my time) My "spice section" of my pantry is out of control. I swear that my husband randomly throws away spices because I can't ever seem to find what I need. I am going to go get a little basket and go to town organizing all of my goodies! Heck, I might even get motivated to organize my cake decorating supplies....might be a bit ambitious of me!
Martha Stewart has thought of it all, she even has printable labels for you to just print out on sticker paper to add to the bottles. I did notice that she also had some blank labels for those oh so weird spices that I have picked up along the way. (didn't see a kick ass hot sauce label on her site!) I believe that you can get the little bottles at The Container Store. (I do know that they have them online, but we don't have a store close to us, so I am not sure about that)

Dreaming..

I have been dreaming today about all the things I WANT to do to my house. I have been saving pictures for months in a file that I visit randomly and just sigh. Here are a few pics that have me totally inspired and wanting to get busy!
I LOVE the chair covers! One of these days I am going to get around to doing that. But it probably wont be until the day my kids stop spilling their food all over the place. (so I guess I have 16 years to dream about these) I also am a huge fan of the curtains. They just look so clean and soft!

The color isn't exactly my style, but when I saw this on rate my space and read that she painted the L over the bed herself, I did just that for my sewing room! LOVE IT!

I just love all the white with the one dark piece of furniture. I also LOVE that vase!!! I am going to do that EXACT setup SOMEWHERE in my house. love it!.
I have had this picture cut out for over a year now and I love it!!! I have a VERY long wall behind my couch and have yet to put anything up on it. This is what I would LOVE to do, but I just see Collin hanging onto the shelf and trying to do tricks on it. The thought scares me!!!! But I will continue to dream about this picture.

VERY similar to the paint I used in my bedroom! I painted my nightstand white, and was looking for glass knobs that I couldn't live without, but this picture has made me rethink the idea of dark knobs. LOOKS SO INVITING!

This is AMAZING!!! She had small cabinets with a space above them.....moved up the cabinets and added a shelf below. I LOVE this! Everything about it! I have VERY big cabinets and I am VERY short, so I just know that this would never work in my house, but I still hang on tight to this picture.
I generally am a fan of clusters of pictures in diff frames and diff sizes, but I am loving these pictures over the nightstand! I just might do this over my new AMAZING chair in my bedroom.
Well, I am off to write my "to do around the house list" and hopefully someday I will actually get around to marking things off on it!
