Somebody Stop Me!!

I have had a slight obsession with blue/green ANYTHING for a while now. But lately it has gotten out of hand! If I find something in this amazing color....I automatically want it! I mean, I found a dog this weekend with crystal blue eyes and HAD to have her! This is getting bad!!!

Also....SUPER cute names you all came up with!!!!!!! We actually went with Kali! (like Cali but all the girls in our family start with K and boys with C.....so we had to switch it up) I was actually going to name my son that if he had been a girl! BUT my next door neighbor (who rescued the sister of Kali) decided to name her dog Shelby from the suggestions! LOVE IT!!!!

Yard Sale....Shmard Sale!!!!

So I have been reading about all the great finds people are getting at Yard Sales!!! Our neighborhood had a yard sale this morning and I got a HUGE purchase!!!! One of those purchases that you aren't really sure if you were in a daze or what came over you. :)

BUT WE GOT A DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kacey's Preschool teacher was at a local shelter getting info on shots....and someone came in with 2 Catahoula 8 week old baby girls!!!! She rescued them (because it was a kill shelter....AWFUL!) and of course we had to go take a look.

I am NOT good at making big decisions......so I called my husband to come check them out. (KNOWING he wouldn't want to leave without one!) This little face is what we saw and fell in love with!!!!

It is just like we brought home a new little baby. Our house is calm and she has been sleeping all day.

Our other dog, Roxy, (a Jack Russel) is celebrating her 8th birthday today!!!!!! We had already gotten a princess balloon, dog ice cream, cookies, and each one of the kids picked out a toy for her big day.....AND THEN WE GOT HER A NEW BABY SISTER.

As far as a name goes............WE ARE CLUELESS!!!!!! Chad doesn't like "people names", and I want a beach dog name. Suggestions?????!!!!!

SO THIS IS A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE THAT MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS MISSING OUT BY NOT GOING TO A YARD SALE. ;)

Oh so Hollywood!

Yesterday was a GREAT day!!!!! We went to Hollywood Studios at Disney and had a BLAST! My mom and I took the kids for a fun filled day and were EXHAUSTED by 6:00 when we left! We usually go to Disney, but wanted to try something new before our "black out"dates started for the Florida Resident Pass. SOOO WORTH THE SWITCH!

Collin was really into all of the characters! Kacey doesn't like them if they don't look like real people. aka...she only wants to see the princesses. :)

They were SOOO excited to meet the cars!!!!! This is the one movie we can all agree on!

I think Kacey really thought we were in Hollywood! ha!

Summer Plans

I am saying that Summer officially began today because Kacey is out of school! I have come up with my list of summer goals.....
-Start running again! (I am one of those people who actually enjoys a good run!)
-Paint my bedroom furniture and make headboard!
-Paint bathroom vanity (I REALLY want to do kitchen...but I am starting with this)
-Cook more organic foods (and by organic I just mean meals not in a box)
-Continue to grow my etsy shop
-Take a vacation with my family and not to visit family...just us hanging out! (even if it is renting a hotel at our local beach for the night)
-Organize my kids playroom and DE CLUTTER!
-Plan and take the kids to two new places a week. There are loads of local things to do...that we just don't do.
-RELAX AND ENJOY THE TIME WITH MY FAMILY!!!!! BEFORE I KNOW IT THEY WILL BE IN SCHOOL ALL THE TIME AND I WILL BE ALONE. (wait a min...that sounds nice at the moment)

What are your summer goals/plans?

Now I am off to pack bags because my mom and I are taking the kids to Disney tomorrow for the day!!!!! We have Florida season passes and the "black out" dates start this friday thru the end of July so we are taking advantage of our last days!!!

When all else fails...paint!

Today was just "one of those days"! My daughter had her last day of preschool this morning and they were having a water slide party. (small private school) She came home SOOOO tired! My son fell asleep on the way home from running errands with a chicken nugget in his hand!!!!! I thought my day was going to run smooth.........UNTIL I WALKED INTO MY HOUSE AND NOTICED THE A/C WAS NOT WORKING AND IT WAS 85!!!!! Not just a normal 85...but a hot sticky FLORIDA 85!!!

I carefully put Collin in his bed and told Kacey that we could hang out and relax and watch a movie just to get some rest. About 15 min later Collin came crying out of his room because it was too hot in there.....and the 3 of us spent the rest of the day laying below the living room fan until the a/c guy came!!!! (only to find out that the breaker tripped and it was as simple as a flip of a switch....literally!)

Anyways.............sometime during the day my fully charged blackberry stopped accepting or sending texts AND my cable went out during a late afternoon storm! THE ONLY HOUSE ON MY STREET TO HAVE THE CABLE GO OUT!!!!

So....we put the kids to bed almost an hour early (GOTTA LOVE AN EARLY EVENING STORM THAT MAKES IT LOOK DARK OUT!) and I painted. It was kind of nice to paint a bit to unwind!!! Check out my new creation! I painted the stripes and then screen printed the sea horse! I did a crown two weekends ago for my daughter and wanted to make one for the rest of us to enjoy today!!!

I am not exactly sure why the pictures are so dark! My camera is probably breaking too with my luck today! :)

Beachin

It is no secret that I LOVE the beach! I miss living close to the beach! I know that I live in Florida...but I live about 45 min away from the beach, and for the past 7 years I lived less than 5 miles from the beach. I miss the smell! I still pretend that the beach is just right around the corner and that I just CHOOSE to go to the pool on the weekends. :)

These pictures are the feeling that I want in my house. The feeling of being on Vacation INSIDE my house!

I love this picture! It even looks like my little Roxy on the couch! The reds and that shade of blue aren't really in my house at the moment...but this picture makes me feel like summer!

SO FUN!!!! These candles are from UncommonGoods and I lOVE THEM!

Now I just need to either figure out how to make a built in like that.....or convince my husband to learn how! Either way....this is what I want on either side of our OUT OF CONTROL HUGE MAN TV! (If Chad wasn't sleeping right now I would ask him, but I believe it is over 60 inches of MAN tv!)

I love these old books! I am not big on reading these days...but might start collecting books just for their ability to match my rooms. :)

These are all pics from Country Living's June Issue....and I am going to go pick one up tomorrow. I stock up on Magazines in the summer because I believe every house has a season....and mine is summer!
