Time for a Change

I have had a vision of how I want our bedroom to look for years. The problem is that my vision includes way to many styles....and I just can't make the move.

I don't know why, I just can't decide on how to begin!

I am looking at tons of magazines tonight while we watch a "guys movie" that Chad has picked and hopefully will find some more inspiring photos/ideas.

Here is what I am working with as of now......

I LOVE this style of room! It just screams vacation!!!!! (coastal living)

This bedroom is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I love the colors, style, and the comfort of it! I am just not sure if I want it to be this style....or a more relaxed white/off white combo. (coastal living)

This is the color combo that I currently have in my bedroom......but it just doesn't match the rest of my home. That might not be a big deal, but my bedroom is right off of my living room so I feel annoyed that it doesn't match!

Although, this picture is pretty darn amazing! (coastal living)

This is a lot more formal, but I still love it! I am having a hard time combining my need for comfort and fancy! (decor pad)

We just got rid of our bed frame so that I could make a fabric headboard. I LOVE THEM!!!!! But now that I am ready to make one....I am wondering if it is too formal for me?! (decor pad)

I want fancy, comfy, beachy, relaxed, all at the same time!

Great Times

I LOVE my friends!

I LOVE having the type of friend that is at the same stage in their life and totally understands that you can't talk all the time, or visit as much, and yet you know that they will ALWAYS be there for you!

That's the kind of friends that I love and cherish!

And this past weekend I got to spend MUCH needed time with one of my Best Friends and her family IN THE KEYS!

We worked super hard planning a trip that would work for all 3 families and it was AMAZING!

Everyone drove down and showed up ready for an FUN FILLED weekend!!!!!!

4 BEAUTIFUL KIDS IN THE BATH......

ADD SOME BUBBLES AND TURN ON THE JETS AND YOU MIGHT QUESTION IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK!

BUT....THE KIDS WILL LOVE IT! ;)

MY WORLD! (AFTER HAVING THE BEST ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET WITH CRAB LEGS....SUSHI, SHRIMP, AND EVERYTHING THAT I LOVE!)

THE WHOLE CREW HEADED OUT ON THE BOAT READY FOR THE BEST DAY!!!!!!

4 KIDS.......ZERO COMPLAINING........ZERO NAPS..........6 LAYERS OF 50SPF SUNSCREEN........PRICELESS!

LOVE HIM!!!!!!

WE PULLED UP TO A SAND BAR AND ANCHORED DOWN! WE STAYED THERE FOR 6 HOURS!!!!!!!!!! JUST HANGING OUT IN THE WATER, TALKING, DANCING, AND JUST ENJOYING THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND GREAT FRIENDS!

THE GIRLS! (AND LITTLE BABY GIRL THAT WILL BE HERE VERY SOON!!!!!!!!)

MY BABY GIRL!!!!!! SHE IS SUCH A BEACH GIRL! SHE ASKS US DAILY IF WE CAN GO TO THE BEACH!

HE IS JUST TOO CUTE! HA!

We are already planning our next trip down!

Summer Pillows!

It is NO secret that I LOVE summer!

I think like my home has the "feeling" of summer all year long with my color choices and style!

I am ALWAYS searching for new accents that will add to the feeling!

I have just added some new pillow cases to My Shop!

Each one below is printed in Peacock Blue, but can easily be made in any of my ink choices!

Starfish in the new color choice! I think it screams SUMMER!!!!!

I LOVE starfish! I have them all over my home and I think they are just so beautiful!

Coral! I am going on a family vacation to The Keys and I am hoping that the oil does not beat me there and ruin ANY of the coral and wildlife! It makes me sick thinking about it!

I don't live too close to the Beach, but I do claim to have a Beach House! :)

Special Day

I had a VERY special Mother's Day!
I think it is my 2nd favorite day of the whole year! (nothing beats Christmas in my mind!)

I love waking up to my kids handing me cards that they worked so hard to make!
I love seeing that my husband took them out to pick out special goodies for me!
I love hearing them in the kitchen early in the morning putting everything together!
I just love it!!!!!

We went to my FAVORITE beach, Anna Maria Island!
With my mom, and my family!
It was the PERFECT beach day!


We played on the beach for a few hours, saw two crabs, one jelly fish, lots of shells, and had a GREAT time!
Then we went to lunch on the Pier, followed by the BEST ice cream I could imagine!!!



I thank these two often for making me a mom!
It is the BEST job I have ever had and I honestly love it!
I love watching these two grow up and become such SWEET, LOVING, FUN, AND CARING people!!!!!
There isn't anywhere I would rather be than hanging out with my family! I don't need a break from them, they are my world!

Mother's Day Gift Idea

I have recently found that I really love having plants around, and in order to have them around, I need to learn how to take care of them! (not exactly how it has gone down in the past with my poor plants!)

My daughter wanted to give her teacher a plant for Teacher Appreciation week, and I thought that it would also be a SUPER mother's day project!

What you will need:

-any size PLASTIC pots (they cost anywhere from $2-$5)

-Spray Paint for painting on plastic

-paint brushes

-paint for designs

-painters tape (if you go for the stripes)

This is one of our pots prior to painting. We went with the gray tone because it only took one coat of spray paint to get it white

Kacey decided to paint beautiful flowers in her teacher's favorite colors on hers!

It was a big hit and she was SOO proud to march into class with it!

I decided to go with stripes! Just using painters tape and a quick coat of black spray paint it was done!

I am SUPER excited with the outcome!

I think any mom would love a beautiful pot of flowers made just for her!!!!

Beergarita!!!

I LOVE Sandra Lee from Semi-Homemade! I love how she throws together a party and every detail is themed out!

Today I am having some friends over to celebrate Cinco De Mayo!

I have everything themed out, and I am most excited about the Beergaritas!

MMMMM!!!!!!

Beergaritas

makes 6 to 8 servings

2 (12 oz ) bottles of chilled beer

1 (12 oz) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed

1 1/2 cups chilled tequila

2 limes cut into 6 to 8 slices each

Kosher salt (optional)

1. in a large pitcher, combine beer, limeade concentrate, and tequila

2. rub the rims of glasses with lime slices and dip into salt to coat, if desired.

Pour mixture into glasses and garnish with lime slices

I have had them before and they really are great! Dangerous, but great! I am not a beer drinker, but these sure to help you celebrate cindo de mayo right!!!!!

Summer Lovin

I miss living right by the beach every single summer since we moved to the West Coast of Florida! It is a good solid hour to drive the beach now, and I REALLY miss living just a few miles away!

We used to go straight to the beach right after work and have dinner, or pack a picnic, and just let the kids run around.

I love that life!

I try VERY hard to make my house feel as relaxed and refreshing as a summer beach house would feel!

The new Pottery Barn collection is amazing for that "feeling"!

I am in love with mason jars!!!!! My husband's grandmother sends us all sorts of veggies that she puts in jars from her garden! I ONLY use mason jars when displaying flowers as well, I just love them!!!!!!!!



And this is my FAVORITE! Even the lemonade looks like it tastes better from it!!!!!
